Bio

After classical studies (Latin, Greek and French literature), I wrote my PhD thesis on semantics and grammaticalization in Romance languages. I now work as a researcher at the CNRS (Lattice laboratory, ENS), and specialize in the study of constraints on language structure and language evolution, working mostly on (a) the expression of space in language and (b) the renewal of grammatical structure, and focusing on Romance languages, but with an eye on current typological studies and other European languages (Germanic, Slavic & Hungarian).
