Dr Caroline Ford

Bio

Dr Caroline Ford is a cancer researcher based at the Lowy Cancer Research Centre. She leads the Metastasis Research Group whose aim is to understand the key processes in epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) and cancer metastasis, in order to identify targets for novel therapies. She has extensive experience researching the molecular biology of breast, ovarian and colorectal cancer.

Dr Ford is also an experienced university lecturer, convening courses on medical research, cancer pathology and personalised medicine. She has completed a Graduate Certificate in University Learning & Teaching, and is passionate about science communication and enhancing the health literacy of the wider community. Dr Ford is a member of the American Association of Cancer Research, the European Association for Cancer Research, the International EMT Association, and the Australian Society for Medical Research.
