Dr. Mustafa Kabeer, M.D.

Bio

Dr. Mustafa Kabeer is a Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgeon at Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), in Orange, California. He trained in General Surgery in Indianapolis having spent time doing research in cytokines and tumor cell vaccines. He then completed a Pediatric Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Subsequently, he worked as a Neonatal Hospitalist while developing a pediatric robotic surgery program at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He also completed his training in Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

Dr. Kabeer has been at CHOC Children’s Hospital for the last nine years and has served in various positions such as Department of Surgery Chair, Board of Directors, the Medical Executive Committee, the Pediatric Subspecialty Faculty Board and The CHOC Children’s Foundation Board.

Dr. Kabeer's research interests include diagnostic spectroscopy for tumors and Hirschsprung’s disease, augmentation of humoral responses with splenocyte salvage, and tumor suppression with cytokine manipulation.
