Prof David Jamieson is Head of the School of Physics at the University of Melbourne. He is also a member of the <i>Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computer Technology</i>. This Centre is working on new ways of storing and processing information using the laws of quantum mechanics. He completed his PhD in Physics at the University of Melbourne and then spent 4 years as a postdoctoral research fellow at Caltech (USA) and the University of Oxford (UK). He has published over 200 papers in scientific journals, 1 book and the occasional opinion piece in the media on energy and the environment. He advocates that the laws of Physics are essential to understanding the causes and potential remedies for climate change.
